Genesis revealed its first full-size flagship SUV at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on August 19, 2026. The GV90 comes in two variants, the GV90 Neolun and the standard GV90. It is a production model based on the 2024 NEOLUN concept.

Swiveling Seats and a Face-to-Face Cabin

The GV90 Neolun introduces motorized front seats that swivel a full 180 degrees while parked. A press of a button on the door trim rotates them to face the rear seats for a lounge-like layout. It is a Hyundai Motor Group first. The 3,245 mm wheelbase gives the cabin a flat floor and a slim cockpit design for a more open, relaxed space.

No Start Button

The GV90 is the first Hyundai Motor Group vehicle with the New Power Control System. It drops the start button entirely. Pulling the door handle powers the vehicle on and automatically closes the door.

The Motion Column Shifter then moves into position, and the Crystal Sphere Controller rotates open. Pressing the brake pedal starts the car. There is no separate ignition.

The Neolun Arch Gate

The GV90 Neolun features the Neolun Arch Gate, the world's first independently opening and closing hidden B-pillar coach doors. The front and rear doors open toward each other for wide entry and exit.

A dual-motion hinge slides the rear door outward, then rotates it open, so it works on its own without the front door. High-strength dual steel beams replace the B-pillar. A hidden roll cage uses a frame 1.5 times thicker than conventional vehicles to match the crash safety of a standard B-pillar.

Powertrain and Range

The GV90 uses a 123.5 kWh high-voltage battery, the largest capacity among Hyundai Motor Group EVs. Combined output is 490 kW and 800 Nm of torque. The front motor makes 240 kW and 350 Nm. The rear motor makes 250 kW and 450 Nm.

The 7-seater achieves an estimated range of about 500 km based on internal R&D tests. A 350 kW fast charger takes the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in 22 minutes.

The GV90 is the first Hyundai Motor Group vehicle with a Dual E-LSD, which sends power to all four wheels based on driving conditions. It also gets multi-chamber air suspension and Rear Wheel Steering that turns the rear wheels up to five degrees. That drops the turning radius to the level of a mid-size car. Front brakes use a 4-piston monobloc caliper.

Safety with Roof Airbag Included

The GV90 carries 12 airbags, including the world's first Roof Airbag. The Roof Airbag covers the entire roof glass during a rollover to prevent occupants from being ejected. An in-cabin monitoring system identifies occupant type and optimizes airbag and seatbelt control during a collision. Curtain airbags extend to the third row.

The body uses cast and extruded aluminum underneath with aluminum exterior panels. A front deflector cuts A-pillar deformation in a small overlap crash. A slider in front of the battery pushes the motor and subframe under the vehicle in a frontal impact.

Thermal Runaway Protection separates each cell to stop heat from spreading, and a cloud-based Battery Management System flags anomalies early.

Interior and Technology

A pop-up center OLED Cinematic Display runs 23.6 inches while driving and raises to 24.6 inches when parked. A 25-inch Head-Up Display replaces the instrument cluster. Pleos Connect runs on Android Automotive with third-party apps and the Gleo AI voice agent. Remote Smart Parking Assist 3 parks and exits with a single touch, and Memory Reversing Assist retraces the vehicle's path out of tight spaces.

Sensory Features

A Bang & Olufsen Premier 3D system pairs 25 speakers and 7.1.4-channel Dolby Atmos with Virtual Venue, tuned to spaces like Boston Symphony Hall and Wembley Stadium. Ambient Glow lighting runs from dashboard to doors, and massage seats use 15 air cells with pulse vibration.

Acoustic glass over 5 mm thick sits in every window, and a metal-coated heated windshield clears frost with its own heat, a Hyundai Motor Group first. Radiant warmers sit in the front and second-row armrests, side panels, and door trims.

The Neolun Executive Suite adds a 4-seat layout with a real wood veneer floor, ondol-inspired radiant heating, a refrigerator, and tables. A Comfort Partition seals the cabin from the trunk, roll blinds add privacy, and a Smart Vision Roof tints across six zones.

Exterior Design

The GV90 draws on the Korean moon jar for restrained, elegant proportions. The body measures 5,285 mm long, 2,030 mm wide, and rides on a 3,245 mm wheelbase. It wears Wing Face Micro Lens Array headlamps, a G-matrix chrome grille, and 24-inch forged wheels. The rear drops the spoiler entirely for a clean surface with flush surface-emitting taillights.

Genesis offers 16 exterior colors, 13 gloss and three matte, plus five interior combinations. The GV90 Neolun adds five exclusive interior schemes.

The First Edition

Genesis also revealed the GV90 Neolun First Edition, a limited release built on the 4-seat Executive Suite. It gets a two-tone exterior, body-color 24-inch forged wheels, standard wool cashmere garnishes, and exclusive logo engraving on the Crystal Sphere Controller, headrests, and doorsteps. It debuts in three color combinations.

Genesis reached one million sales faster than any luxury brand in history, in under eight years. The GV90 anchors its next decade.
