2027 Kia Telluride Adds Its First Hybrid and Prestigious Trims
The Kia Telluride is all-new for 2027. The second-generation Telluride is longer, roomier, and, for the first time, available with a hybrid powertrain. It also gains an upgraded X-Pro trim line built for the trail. Kia designed it specifically for U.S. buyers and assembles it in West Point, Georgia.
The 2027 Telluride X-Pro was named Best Three-Row Family SUV by the Northwest Automotive Press Association at its 2026 Mudfest.
Powertrain
Every Telluride now uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, either on its own or paired with a hybrid system. The standard turbo makes 274 horsepower and 311 lb-ft. of torque, a gain of 49 lb-ft. over the previous engine. It runs through an eight-speed automatic to the front wheels, with all-wheel drive available.
The Turbo Hybrid pairs the same engine with a 1.65-kWh lithium-ion battery and electric motors for a combined 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft. of torque. That is up to 38 more horsepower and 77 lb-ft. more torque than the previous Telluride, which made 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft. It uses a six-speed automatic with available all-wheel drive and comes standard with Electrification-Vehicle Motion Control, which uses braking and motor control to sharpen handling and stability.
The hybrid also features Stay Mode, which runs climate control, lighting, and audio on battery power for up to an hour without starting the engine, or until the battery drops to about 20 percent.
Fuel Economy
The Turbo Hybrid EX FWD is rated at an EPA-estimated 34 mpg city, 36 highway, and 35 combined, with a total driving range of up to 637 miles. The SX FWD comes in slightly lower at 32/34/33, and all hybrid all-wheel-drive trims are rated at 30/32/31.
The standard turbo is rated at 20 mpg city, 26 highway, and 22 combined with front-wheel drive. All-wheel-drive versions drop to 18/24/20, and the X-Pro's all-terrain tires bring it to 17/22/19.
Capability
The turbo tows up to 5,000 pounds, and the hybrid up to 4,500 pounds. An integrated tow hitch is standard on X-Pro and available on other trims, tucking into the rear bumper when not in use. An available self-leveling rear suspension steadies the vehicle under load.
Every trim now uses rack-mounted motor-driven power steering in place of the previous column-mounted system, for quicker response and better feedback through corners. A power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel with memory is available.
2027 Kia Telluride Exterior
The 2027 Telluride rides on a 116.9-inch wheelbase and stretches 199.2 inches long, gains of 2.7 and 2.3 inches over the previous model. Flush door handles and reworked bodywork drop the drag coefficient from 0.33 to 0.30 on non-X-Pro models. A bold mesh-type grille and squared-off lower bumper front the blacked-out trims.
The Telluride offers 10 exterior colors, mixing returning shades like Wolf Gray and Glacial White Pearl with new options and a first-ever matte finish. Most premium colors add $495, and the matte finishes run $995. Higher trims unlock more of the palette.
2027 Kia Telluride Interior
The added length brings more first and second-row headroom, class-leading second-row legroom, and easier third-row access. A new second-row slide-and-tilt seat design lets many child seats stay in place while passengers reach the third row.
Seating is eight-passenger with a second-row bench on the LX, or seven-passenger with second-row captain's chairs from the S trim up. Interiors range from black SynTex on the base trims to two-tone combinations like black and butter brown on the EX and up.
Maximum cargo space is 89.3 cubic feet in the gas model and 88.3 in the hybrid. Behind the second row, there is 48.7 cubic feet in the gas model and 47.7 in the hybrid. Behind the third row, there is 22.3 cubic feet in the gas model and 21.3 in the hybrid. A folding luggage table with cupholders is standard behind the third row, and the gas model adds a lower storage area with movable dividers.
Comfort features include available front relaxation seats with power leg rests, an available Ergo Motion driver's seat with a massage function, available power-operated second-row captain's chairs with heating and ventilation, and available heated seats in all three rows on the outboard positions. Dual wireless charging pads are standard up front, and USB-C fast-charging ports reach all three rows. An available Noise Vibration and Harshness package adds triple door seals, more sound-absorbing material, and thicker door glass.
Tech
The Connected Car Navigation Cockpit system spans more than half the dash and is available with dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays and over-the-air updates. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on every trim, and Kia's generative AI voice assistant responds to "Hey, Kia."
An available Meridian audio system uses 14 speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer. The available Digital Key 2.0 lets owners use a compatible phone, smartwatch, or NFC card as a key and share access with up to three people. SX-Prestige trims add a full-display digital rearview mirror and a 12-inch head-up display.
Available Entertainment and Data Services stream Disney+, Netflix, and YouTube while parked. Available display themes cover all 30 NBA teams and some of Disney's brands, rolling out through 2026. Kia myQ Connected Garage uses geo-fencing to open and close the garage door as the vehicle approaches or leaves home.
Trims
The 2027 Kia Telluride is offered with a choice of two powertrains: a gas lineup of 10 configurations and a hybrid lineup of 5. Both share the same trim names and the X-Line package, so the only real choice is which engine you want. The hybrid is offered on the EX, SX, X-Line SX, SX-Prestige, and X-Line SX-Prestige. It is not available as an LX, S, or X-Pro.
LX ($39,190) is the base, well-equipped with the 274-hp turbo, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, eight-passenger seating with a second-row bench, and 19 driver-assist features.
S ($42,090) adds 20-inch wheels, a power sunroof, second-row captain's chairs (dropping to seven-passenger), a power driver's seat, and heated front seats.
EX ($43,790) brings ventilated and power front seats, full SynTex upholstery, second-row window sunshades, and power-folding mirrors. It is also the entry point for the hybrid.
X-Line EX ($47,290) takes the EX and adds the blacked-out X-Line look, 21-inch wheels, high-utility roof rails, and standard all-wheel drive with Terrain Mode. It keeps the eight-passenger bench.
SX ($48,790) steps up to dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays, Meridian premium audio, dual sunroofs, and a blind-spot and 360-degree camera system.
X-Line SX ($51,790) pairs that SX equipment with the X-Line styling, 21-inch wheels, LED projector fog lights, and standard AWD with Terrain Mode.
X-Pro SX ($53,690) is the off-road build on the SX, adding 9.1 inches of ground clearance, 18-inch all-terrain tires, an electronic limited-slip differential, a heated steering wheel, and the Ground View Monitor with an off-road status screen.
SX-Prestige ($53,890) is the luxury peak, adding a digital rearview mirror, heated and ventilated second-row seats, the memory power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 12-inch head-up display, and the smartphone Digital Key.
X-Line SX-Prestige ($54,890) combines that Prestige equipment with the X-Line package, 21-inch wheels, LED projector fog lights, and an LED liftgate lamp.
X-Pro SX-Prestige ($56,790) tops the lineup, joining the Prestige features with the full X-Pro off-road hardware, engineered carbon interior trim, and X-Pro-exclusive Ground Lighting front, side, and rear.
Safety
The 2027 Telluride comes with 10 airbags, including a new front-row center airbag between the driver and front passenger. Kia targets an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating with a reinforced body structure.
Standard driver aids now include Hands on Detection, Lane Following Assist 2, an in-cabin camera, and forward and reverse parking distance warnings. Available Highway Driving Assist 2 helps maintain distance, stay centered in a lane, and assist with lane changes on certain highways. Blind-Spot Collision Warning is standard, with an available Blind-Spot View Monitor.
A standard Rear Occupant Alert uses in-cabin radar to detect passengers in the second and third rows, escalating from a visual reminder to an audible alert to a phone notification through the Kia Access app. Safe Exit Assist warns occupants of approaching traffic before they open a door.
Price, MSRP, and Availability
The gas Telluride is on sale now, starting at $39,190 for the LX and running to $56,790 for the X-Pro SX-Prestige. All prices exclude destination and handling, taxes, title, and options.

The Turbo Hybrid is arriving in showrooms now in EX, SX, X-Line SX, SX-Prestige, and X-Line SX-Prestige trims. The hybrid is not offered in LX, S, or X-Pro form. Hybrid pricing starts at $46,490 for the EX and tops out at $57,590 for the X-Line SX-Prestige.
Warranty
Every Telluride is backed by Kia's 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty and 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty. On the hybrid, the battery system carries its own 10-year/100,000-mile coverage.
