2027 Ram ProMaster City Is America's Cheapest Work Van
The 2027 Ram ProMaster City revives the small commercial van segment in America with a starting price of $39,995, including destination, the lowest MSRP of any commercial van sold in the US.

The segment nearly vanished when the Ford Transit Connect, Nissan NV200, and Mercedes-Benz Metris all left the market, leaving buyers who wanted a compact work van with no new option. Production begins in 2026, with vans reaching dealers in the first quarter of 2027.

Engine and Towing
A turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder makes 166 horsepower and 221 lb-ft. of torque through an eight-speed automatic driving the front wheels. It targets 2,000 lbs. of towing with the available Class 3 hitch and carries over 2,000 lbs. of payload, giving it Class 2 capability in a compact footprint.

Cargo Space and Dimensions
The ProMaster City holds more than 167 cubic feet of cargo, with a 111-inch load floor, 54-inch cargo height, and over 48 inches between the rear wheel wells, enough to fit standard 4-by-8-foot materials.

Buyers can choose rear swing doors or a segment-exclusive rear liftgate, and with nearly all vehicle systems packaged ahead of the cargo area, the box stays open for shelving and trade-specific upfits. At under 80 inches tall, it clears most urban parking garages, which Ram says no other Class 2 van can do.

Interior Features and Safety
Standard equipment includes a 10-inch digital cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital rearview mirror, and heated front seats.

The SLT trim adds front parking sensors, a wireless charger, heated steering wheel, fog lamps, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Safety tech covers forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and Driver Attention Alert.

What's the Difference Between the ProMaster City Cargo Van and Passenger Wagon?
The ProMaster City Cargo Van is built to haul goods and seats two, with security panels or window options in the cargo area behind the front row.

The Passenger Wagon carries occupants, seating five standard or eight with the available third row, and adds second- and third-row side-curtain airbags.

Both come in Tradesman or SLT trim and share the same drivetrain, a 166-horsepower turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive, plus 2,000 lbs. of towing and over 2,000 lbs. of payload.

How Much Does the 2027 Ram ProMaster City Cost?
The 2027 Ram ProMaster City starts at $39,995 for the Tradesman Cargo, including a $2,595 destination charge. The SLT Passenger Wagon starts at $44,195, including destination. The four trims with destination range from $39,995 to $44,195:
