NEXERA Vision Concept Previews the Future of Acura Design
The Acura NEXERA Vision is a concept coupe that introduces a new design language for future Acura models. Acura revealed it at Monterey Car Week to mark the brand's 40th anniversary.
The NEXERA Vision is a design study, not a new production sports car. It establishes an exterior and interior look that future Acura models will adopt, starting with the fourth-generation RDX Hybrid.
The Acura Design California studio in Los Angeles designed the concept under Yasutake Tsuchida, Acura's Creative Director and Vice President of Auto Design.
Exterior Design
The NEXERA Vision is finished in Matte Titanium, a metallic paint with visible depth. Its profile has a wide stance, a long dash-to-axle ratio, and a cabin that flows from nose to tail in one clean line.
It opens with dual-hinge butterfly doors that also form the glass canopy roof. An active rear spoiler manages airflow across the decklid to improve aerodynamic efficiency, high-speed stability, and braking.
Forged carbon fiber shows up throughout the body, including the front fascia, rear diffuser, and rocker panels. Behind the wheels sit carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes.
Phantom Lighting
The headlights and taillights hide behind the bodywork and only appear when illuminated. Acura calls this phantom lighting, and it gives the coupe uninterrupted surfacing when the lights are off.
The ultra-thin light shape draws from the Acura 'A' mark to create a new lighting signature. That signature is confirmed for production, starting with the next-generation RDX Hybrid.
Interior Design
The front seats are integrated into the floor in a fixed position, which lowers the driver into the car. The pedals and steering wheel adjust to meet the driver instead of the seat moving.
The black-and-white cabin pairs forged carbon and gloss black surfaces with high-contrast pink accents. Sustainable materials run throughout, including recycled aluminum, Alcantara made with certified post-consumer recycled polyester, and CircuLeather, a genuine leather designed for a more circular material lifecycle.
What It Means for Acura
The NEXERA Vision remains a concept, but its design language previews what's to come. Acura has committed to carrying it forward across future products, and the fourth-generation RDX Hybrid is the first model to bring the new look to showrooms.
