2026 Corvette ZR1X: The Most Powerful Corvette Ever
The Corvette has always been America's benchmark for performance, but the ZR1X takes it up a notch, arriving as a hybrid hypercar.
2026 Corvette ZR1X: 1,250 HP, $209,700
The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X pairs the ZR1's twin-turbocharged LT7 5.5-litre flat-plane V8 with an electric front drive unit for a combined 1,250 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque, placing it at the top of the Corvette lineup as the most powerful production Corvette ever built. The starting price is $209,700, which undercuts most of its hypercar rivals by millions.

Powertrain
The LT7 V8 produces 1,064 hp on its own, with a front-mounted electric motor adding 186 hp and 145 lb-ft to the front axle via a 1.9 kWh lithium-ion battery in the centre spine, charged entirely through regenerative braking with no plug-in required. That battery is 26% larger than the E-Ray's, enabling more consistent track lapping, while the eAWD system constantly monitors and adapts to tire conditions for maximum traction and optimal chassis balance. The front axle stays engaged up to 160 mph, with power to the rear handled by an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission equipped with a variable Drive Style Index that anticipates driver input and reacts with gear holds and downshifts. Every LT7 is hand-assembled at GM's Bowling Green Performance Build Center, and buyers can participate in their own engine build for an additional fee.

Performance
On a prepped surface, the ZR1X covers 0-60 mph in 1.68 seconds and the quarter-mile in 8.675 seconds at 159 mph. On standard road asphalt, those figures settle to 2.1 seconds to 60 mph, 4 seconds to 100 mph, and a 9.2-second quarter-mile at 155 mph. Top speed without the aero package is 233 mph. Coupe dry weight is 3,914 lbs, convertible, 3,978 lbs. For context, that quarter-mile time beats the Bugatti Tourbillon ($4.6 million), Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut ($3.4 million), and Pininfarina Battista ($2.2 million), all at a fraction of their price.

Brakes and Downforce
Standard carbon ceramic brakes feature 16.5-inch rotors at both ends, clamped by Alcon ten-piston front and six-piston rear calipers, the largest brake package ever fitted to a production Corvette. Standard carbon fiber components include the front splitter, rocker panels, roof panels, side air inlets, and rear window surround. The optional Carbon Fiber Aero Package adds a high-wing spoiler, underbody strakes, hood lip gurney, and dive planes, generating over 1,200 lbs of downforce, a production Corvette record. With the aero package fitted, top speed drops to around 224 mph.

Six Drive Modes
Tour, Sport, Track, Weather, MyMode, and Z Mode are all standard. Stealth Mode enables electric-only running up to 45 mph for four to five miles. Flying Start transitions the car from electric-only to full twin-turbo V8 eAWD on a heavy throttle input. Track-specific energy strategies include Endurance, Qualifying, and Push-to-Pass.

Trims
The 1LZ starts at $209,700 and includes carbon-fiber roof panels, a Performance Data Recorder, Bose 10-speaker audio, and a head-up display. The 3LZ starts at $220,700 and adds Napa leather heated and ventilated seats, a fourteen-speaker Bose system, and a heated carbon-trimmed steering wheel.

Two limited editions are available.

Stars and Steel Limited Edition
The Stars and Steel edition celebrates America's 250th anniversary with full-length flag-inspired stripes and commemorative badging, available in Arctic White with Santorini Blue interior or Black with Adrenaline Red interior.
Quail Silver Limited Edition

The Quail Silver edition features Blade Silver Matte paint, Corvette's first factory matte finish since the 1960s, inspired by the Inca Silver colour offered on the C1 from 1957 to 1959, paired with a Sky Cool and Medium Ash Gray interior with Habanero accents and orange brake calipers. It is exclusive to the 3LZ convertible.
2026 Corvette ZR1X at Nürburgring
GM vehicle dynamics engineer Drew Cattell lapped the 12.9-mile Nordschleife in 6:49.275 in a U.S. production-spec ZR1X fitted only with mandatory safety equipment.

The time is the fastest ever recorded by a non-professional driver in the official Nürburgring records, placing fifth on the all-time production car list ahead of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and Ford Mustang GTD.
