2026 Hyundai Tucson Specs, Trims, and New Night Trim

The 2026 Hyundai Tucson carries over the styling and platform from the 2025 redesign, with Hyundai using this model year to expand the lineup instead. The changes center on trim names, a new entry-level hybrid, and, as of June, a blacked-out Night trim.

Powertrains

The Tucson comes as a gas-only model, a hybrid, or a plug-in hybrid.

The gas engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder making 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive standard. HTRAC all-wheel drive is optional.

The hybrid pairs a 1.6-liter turbo engine with an electric motor for a combined d 271 lb-ft. of torque. The plug-in hybrid uses the same engine with a larger motor and a 13.8-kWh battery, raising output to 268 horsepower.

Hyundai rates the PHEV's charge time at roughly two hours on a 240V charger. Both hybrid versions come with HTRAC AWD standard.

Trim changes for 2026

Hyundai renamed SEL Convenience to SEL Premium across the lineup. On the hybrid side, the former Blue trim is now called SEL, and Hyundai added a new Blue SE as the entry-level hybrid trim, lowering the starting price for a gas-electric Tucson.

In June, Hyundai expanded the Tucson Hybrid lineup with new front-wheel-drive SE and SEL trims for buyers who don't need AWD. The Hybrid SE FWD starts at $30,950, and the Hybrid SEL FWD starts at $32,400, both before the $1,600 destination charge, with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Night Trim

Hyundai also added a Tucson Hybrid Night AWD trim, built off the Limited and starting at $44,175 including destination. It carries the Limited's standard equipment, including leather-trimmed seats, onboard navigation, a 12-inch head-up display, Bose premium audio, a heated steering wheel, and wireless charging, then adds a blacked-out look on top.

Night trim swaps in gloss-black 19-inch alloy wheels with a silver Hyundai logo, along with gloss-black front and rear bumper fascia elements, mirror caps, and window-surround trim. Inside, it gets a black headliner. Hyundai offers it in Ash Black, Creamy White Pearl, and Ecotronic Gray.

Cargo and capability

Cargo space runs 38.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 74.8 cubic feet with them folded, on both the gas and hybrid models. The plug-in hybrid loses room to its battery pack, dropping to 31.9 cubic feet and 66.3 cubic feet.

The Tucson seats five across every trim. Ground clearance measures 7.1 inches on FWD models and 8.3 inches with AWD.

Interior and tech

Base SE trims get a 12.3-inch touchscreen with a 6-speaker system and a 4.2-inch driver display. SEL and above upgrade to a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and, depending on trim, onboard navigation. The Limited adds a Bose premium audio system with 8 speakers and an amplifier.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard across the lineup, along with Hyundai's Bluelink+ connected car system and over-the-air update capability for the infotainment controller.

Safety

Every Tucson trim comes standard with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Lane Following Assist. The Limited adds Highway Driving Assist 1, a surround-view monitor, and a blind-spot view monitor.
