2026 Honda CR-V Overview with Features, Trims, Pricing

The CR-V remains one of America's best-selling compact SUVs, and the 2026 model doesn't change the formula. Seven trims, two powertrains, and a real tech upgrade across the board. Car and Driver has named it a 10Best Truck and SUV three years running.

Powertrain

The CR-V offers two powertrain options. LX, EX, and EX-L models are powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque, paired with a CVT.

Sport, TrailSport, Sport-L, and Sport Touring models use Honda's two-motor hybrid system. It pairs a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with two electric motors through a direct-drive transmission, producing a combined 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque.

Front-wheel drive is standard on most trims. All-wheel drive is optional on gas models and standard on the TrailSport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid.

Fuel Economy

The turbocharged 1.5-liter engine is rated at 28 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined with front-wheel drive. AWD models are rated at 27 city, 31 highway, and 29 combined.

Most front-wheel-drive hybrid models return 43 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 40 mpg combined. AWD hybrids are rated at 40 city, 34 highway, and 37 combined.

The TrailSport Hybrid trades some efficiency for added capability. Equipped with standard AWD and all-terrain tires, it returns 38 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 35 mpg combined.

Capability

Ground clearance is 7.8 inches in 2WD and 8.2 inches with AWD, and every trim gets Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control. Gas trims have three drive modes (Normal, Econ, Snow); Sport hybrids add a fourth (Sport); the Sport Touring Hybrid gets a fifth (Individual).

Hybrids also let you adjust the intensity of regenerative braking. Cargo room runs from 36.3 cubic feet on hybrids up to 39.3 on gas trims, expanding to roughly 72-77 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

Exterior

The 2026 CR-V measures 184.8 inches long, 73.5 inches wide, on a 106.3-inch wheelbase. Full LED headlights and taillights are standard across every trim, along with LED daytime running lights and LED front and mirror turn indicators. Heated mirrors start on EX.

Sport hybrid trims and up add black roof rails, gloss black mirror caps, and dual chrome exhaust finishers. Those rails only become functional for carrying gear once paired with accessory crossbars, which mount bike racks, ski attachments, and similar gear. TrailSport goes further with gloss black door handles and its own styling package inside and out.

A power moonroof is standard on EX and above. Power tailgate arrives on EX-L and TrailSport, and the Sport Touring Hybrid steps up to hands-free access. Sport Touring also gets an acoustic laminate windshield and acoustic front door glass for a quieter cabin at speed.

Standard colors are Solar Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Meteorite Gray Metallic, and Canyon River Blue Metallic. Premium colors (Platinum White Pearl, Ash Green Metallic, Urban Gray Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic) add $455.

Interior

The CR-V seats five across all trims, with 106 cubic feet of passenger space, 41.3 inches of front legroom, and 41 inches of rear legroom.

Heated front seats, a 10-way power driver's seat with lumbar support, and dual-zone climate control start on EX. Leather-trimmed seating arrives on EX-L and Sport-L.

Sport Touring adds ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and ambient lighting in the footwell and door handles. TrailSport gets its own amber ambient lighting and custom seat badge stitching.

Active Noise Cancellation is standard on every trim. Hybrids add Active Sound Control on top of it.

Tech

A 9-inch touchscreen is now standard across the entire lineup, a real step up from the outgoing generation. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and a Qi wireless charging pad come standard on every trim. USB-C ports are standard up front, and EX and above add rear seat USB-C charging.

The instrument cluster is a 7-inch TFT display on LX, EX, Sport, and TrailSport, stepping up to 10.2 inches on EX-L, Sport-L, and Sport Touring.

The Sport Touring Hybrid tops the lineup on tech, exclusively adding Google built-in with a three-year unlimited data plan, a 12-speaker Bose Premium Sound System, HD Radio, and rain-sensing wipers.

Every trim's rearview camera offers three viewing angles: normal, top-down, and wide. Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock is standard on EX and above, so locking up is as simple as walking away.

TrailSport owners also get access to Honda Trail Experience (HTX), a free app that connects via Apple CarPlay to log real-time data such as elevation, pitch, roll, and speed on the trail. It also lets owners capture and export videos of their runs with data overlays, controlled right from the touchscreen. An Android version is coming later.

Safety

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes Collision Mitigation Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Road Departure Mitigation, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Traffic Jam Assist. Blind Spot Information and Cross Traffic Monitor start on EX.

Front and rear parking sensors (4 and 4) arrive on EX-L, Sport-L, and Sport Touring. Driver Attention Monitor is standard fleet-wide, alerting the driver to signs of fatigue or reduced attention.

Price, MSRP, and Availability

Pricing starts at $30,920 for the LX and tops out at $42,550 for the Sport Touring Hybrid, before the $1,395 destination charge, taxes, registration, and options. AWD is optional on gas LX, EX, and EX-L, and standard on TrailSport and Sport Touring Hybrid. Premium colors add $455. The 2026 CR-V is at dealerships now.
