# GMC Hummer EV Fiber Edition Outruns Supercars

## Too fast for the camera

In this video, the GMC Hummer EV Carbon Fiber Edition takes on notorious supercars. During the first 0-60 mph run, the Hummer EV pulled away so hard the other cars fell out of frame. The crew moved the truck back a full car length at the starting line just to keep the supercars in the shot.

## Pro Drivers Left Stunned

Stunt coordinator Andrew Comrie-Picard, a multi-time rally champion, planned to time a launch on his phone from the passenger seat. The truck hit so hard he couldn't get his thumb to the button to start the clock. Driver Dave Carapetyan, a Pikes Peak class winner, held the brake, let the truck squat down, and released the pedal to launch.

## No Slowdown in the Texas Heat

The team started each day fully charged and ran dozens of Watts to Freedom launches under the hot Texas sun at Texas Motor Speedway. The battery never dropped below 90 percent, and the times held. Lead development engineer KC Connolly noted the truck sat all day in Watts to Freedom mode with the air conditioning running and never lost a step.

## Camera Car and Support Truck in One

The Hummer EV pulled double duty on set. It ran with a large camera arm mounted to the bed and two camera operators seated in the back, all while launching hard enough to lead the supercars. Between takes, it switched roles and shuttled crew and equipment around the track, a cool break from the 90-degree heat at Texas Motor Speedway. As Carapetyan put it, nothing else matches the Hummer EV, having that kind of performance in a truck that stays practical.

## GMC Hummer EV Carbon Fiber Edition Horsepower and 0-60

The GMC Hummer EV Carbon Fiber Edition makes up to 1,160 horsepower and a GMC-estimated 13,000 lb-ft. of torque at the wheels. Using the 24-module battery and Watts to Freedom launch mode, GMC estimates a 0-60 mph time of 2.8 seconds. Its three electric motors deliver that torque from a stop, with no gears to shift through.
